Qomply Recognised with Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Awards
Co-founders Michelle Zak and Stuart Hartley share their thoughts on Qomply's recent awards for Diversity and Inclusion including their latest award from Waters Technology for Best Company for Diversity and Inclusion 2024. This latest recognition comes on the heels of the Industry Excellence Award Qomply received in late 2023.
What does this award mean to you?
Michelle: Qomply is founded on the core principle that a diverse team produces quality products. To this end, attracting a varied and talented pool of candidates sits at the heart of our recruitment strategy. This has resulted in a workforce that is ethnically, culturally, and demographically diverse. Since inception, our senior leadership team has maintained a 50-50 gender split, while our software development team, until recently all-female, now mirrors this balance.
Stuart: Having such a talented group of individuals has resulted in one of the most user-friendly solutions on the market. We credit our team for this result.
"DE&I is ingrained in the very veins of Qomply..."
What makes Qomply stand out in the industry?
Stuart: In short, the proof is in the pudding – our team, working collaboratively, has built one of the most-successful, cloud-based solutions on the market with some of the world's leading asset management firms, trading venues and banks using the platform. Recognising new perspectives, varying viewpoints, and individuality means an exceptional product.
Michelle: We also foster the growth and development of individuals who are entering the workforce. The Qomply Insight Programme is something we're incredibly proud of. Our program encourages recent graduates to "lean in". Our internship cultivates individual strengths in software development and digital marketing, fostering innovation through dynamic brainstorming sessions.
How has Qomply's culture contributed to its success?
Michelle: Our journey has shown us that our diversity is, without a doubt, one of our greatest assets. As a result of Qomply’s culture, Qomply has grown from strength to strength – having received numerous awards for our technology, our innovation, our solutions, and our uniqueness in the market.
"Diversity is, without a doubt, one of our greatest assets."
What exciting developments can we expect from Qomply?
Stuart: Qomply continues to expand its team and services. Our most recent addition to the team, Sophia Fulugunya is Qomply’s new Director of Transaction Reporting. Sophia brings her extensive experience and knowledge gained from her 6-year tenure with the FCA. You can expect more news from Qomply as we continue to extend our solutions, beginning with QomplyEngine - our pioneering approach to generating transaction reports on behalf of firms. This means firms can delegate their transaction report generation and submission to Qomply.
